Tour Description
This tour highlights the University of Oxford’s relationship with contentious sources of revenue. Learn about historic and modern wealth distribution networks within the University and engage with conversations of wealth inequality in a city experiencing a housing crisis. We ask why billionaires keep investing in the historic university, how massive philanthropic donations should be handled, and what effects such income streams have on academic freedom and political neutrality. Tour recommended for teens age 13 and older. *Tour Itinerary:* 1. Saïd Business School 2. Middle Fisher Row Gardens 3. Nuffield College 4. Archaeology Library 5. Wellington Square 6. Blavatnik School of Government 7. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities Please note that tour itinerary can vary slightly depending on the discussions and guide. ACCESSIBILITY: - Wheelchair accessible, but please note some mildly uneven pavement and road crossings. - Distance walked is less than one mile. - There are moments for sitting/leaning against walls throughout this tour, and a toilet stop. - We do not have microphones or other amplifying audio equipment, but strive to accommodate diverse needs to the best of our ability.
